Course on Sugar-Cane Topics

Hélio do Prado, professor of soil classification and sugar-cane productive environments

"Sugar-Cane Topics" is greatly distinct from Internet-based courses for its major part and, it still has two practical field classes at a selected sugar Mill site.

In one of the field classes, representative soil profiles are presented, given the participant a chance to examine them live at the trenches, to know its potentialities and limitations and to learn a rational management of sugar cane varieties.

During the second field class, the following themes are approached: pests, diseases, sugar-cane varieties and economics.

In summary, the subjects encompassed during the course are: Pedology, Phyto-technics, Plant Breeding, Pests, Diseases and Economics. Semester online subscriptions at: www.iac.sp.gov.br
